SOCIAL JUSTICE CAMPAIGN
“Don’t Let a Child Become a Mother” is a poster series addressing the consequences of inadequate sexual education and the systemic failures that leave child survivors of sexual abuse without protection or support. Through symbolism, color theory, and researched statements, the series creates visibility around the forced motherhood experienced by many young victims in Guatemala.
“Don’t Let a Child Become a Mother” is a three-poster design series that explores the intersection of limited sexual education, gender inequality, and the failures of Guatemala’s justice and healthcare systems in protecting child survivors of sexual abuse. The project examines how institutional neglect can force children into motherhood while denying them safety, autonomy, and support.
Using symbolic imagery, intentional color choices, and powerful statements grounded in research, the posters convey the urgency of this issue while creating a visual language centered on awareness and advocacy. The project expands beyond static design with an animated version of the posters, accessible via a QR code, created in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe After Effects to further engage audiences and amplify the message.
